Kimberly Allison - Old New Borrowed and Blues

On this CD Kimberly Allison joins forces with Mr. Blues (vocals and keys) to produce an album that explores elements of traditional electric urban blues, jump, funk, jazz/blues, and blues/rock and traditional blues. Mr. Blues brings some of the tradition by drawing his years of experience working with blues greats such as Jimmy Reed, Little Milton and Big Mama Thorton, but this is "KC's" album all the way. The strongest cuts are her 6 original tunes which display her absolute mastery of the guitar whether its the jazz orientated "Four Down Jump", the funk of "Turn Up The AC", or the SRV flavoured "I 35 South". So move over Susan, and make a little room there Debbie, "KC" is coming up to join you in the ranks of great female guitarists.
